Arsenal are back in firm control of the Premier League title race and could move c to winning their first English league crown in 22 years with victory against West Ham United on Sunday.
The Gunners regained momentum after a difficult spell that briefly allowed Manchester City back into contention. However City’s recent 3 3 draw against Everton may prove costly in the race for the title.
Arsenal currently hold a five point lead over Manchester City who still have a game in hand. Mikel Arteta’s side also received a major confidence boost after defeating Atletico Madrid 1 0 at the Emirates Stadium to book a place in the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint Germain.
Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry has warned supporters not to celebrate too early describing the away clash against West Ham as a potentially difficult encounter despite the Hammers’ poor recent record against Arsenal.
Meanwhile Tottenham Hotspur are battling to avoid relegation and could move c to safety with victory over Leeds United on Monday.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi said his side cannot afford complacency despite collecting seven points from their last three matches. Spurs currently sit just above the relegation zone and still face difficult fixtures against Chelsea and Everton.
Elsewhere Chelsea are desperate to end a miserable run of form after suffering six consecutive Premier League defeats. Under interim coach Calum McFarlane the Blues have struggled badly and now face a difficult clash against Liverpool.
Liverpool meanwhile are pushing to secure qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League as the Premier League season approaches a dramatic conclusion.
