All Progressives Congress has announced that its House of Representatives primary elections in Oyo State were conducted peacefully and transparently across all 14 federal constituencies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Chairman of the APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee in Oyo State, Mojeed Alabi, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the party secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan.

Alabi expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, noting that no incidents of violence or major disputes were recorded during the primaries. According to him, 74 aspirants were cleared by the APC National Secretariat to participate in the House of Representatives primaries across the state.

He explained that the committee was assigned to supervise the elections, monitor the process in all constituencies, collate results, ensure compliance with party guidelines, and forward reports to the APC National Secretariat for final ratification.

Alabi stated that the primaries were conducted simultaneously across wards within the federal constituencies rather than at a single venue, in line with the party’s procedures.

He also clarified that the committee’s role was limited to monitoring and documentation, adding that any complaints arising from the process would be handled by the party’s appeal committee.

The committee chairman reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to fairness, transparency, and internal democracy, stressing that members carried out their responsibilities without favouritism despite logistical challenges.

According to him, the successful conduct of the primaries demonstrated the ruling party’s readiness and commitment toward strengthening democratic processes ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier, the Oyo State APC Chairman, Moses Adeyemo, commended the election committee for ensuring an orderly process and urged party members to accept outcomes that would promote unity among aspirants and stakeholders.

The APC leadership in the state expressed confidence that the peaceful conduct of the primaries would further strengthen the party’s structure and preparations for future elections.
