Senne Lammens Embraces Premier League Physicality After Everton Win

Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens says he is relishing the physical demands of the Premier League after helping his side secure a hard fought 1 0 victory away to Everton on Monday.

The match at Hill inson Stadium tested the 23 year old Belgian, with Everton players crowding his six yard box during a series of corners and firing several long range efforts in a bid to unsettle him. Despite the pressure, Lammens stood firm to record another impressive performance in what has been a strong start to his Premier League career.

The former Royal Antwerp shot stopper acknowledged the intense nature of English football but insisted he welcomes the battle inside the penalty area. He described the league as physical and compared the action in the box to a war, adding that dealing with such moments is one of his strengths.

Lammens noted that while there must be limits to physical play, he enjoys stepping out of his comfort zone and handling difficult situations. He expressed satisfaction at successfully claiming crosses even when surrounded by multiple opponents, saying it gives him confidence that he is performing well.

United signed Lammens for £18 million on transfer deadline day in September, and he has since edged out Altay Bayindir, who previously replaced Andre Onana between the posts.

Under caretaker manager Michael Carrick, United have climbed back into the top four, with Lammens playing a key role. Although this is only his second season in senior football, the 6 foot 4 goalkeeper appears to be adapting quickly to the expectations and scrutiny that come with representing one of the world most high profile clubs.
