OPay Emerges Fintech and Digital Bank of the Year at The Sun Awards 2025

Leading financial institution OPay has been named Fintech and Digital Bank of the Year 2025 at The Sun Awards organised by The Sun Publishing Limited. The ceremony held on 31 January 2026 at Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island Lagos marked a historic moment as it was the first time the Fintech and Digital Bank category was introduced since the awards began.

In a statement released on Tuesday OPay said the recognition celebrates its role in building a reliable inclusive and easy to use digital financial platform that supports millions of Nigerians daily. The company noted that the award reflects years of consistent investment in secure infrastructure customer experience and strong local partnerships.

The award acknowledges OPay’s integrated platform which combines mobile banking digital wallets fast payments merchant services and lifestyle solutions in one ecosystem. This approach has helped bridge the gap between traditional banking and the digital economy making financial services more accessible to individuals and businesses across Nigeria.

Chief Commercial Officer Elizabeth Wang added that the award validates OPay’s long term commitment to Nigeria and reflects the trust placed in the brand by millions of users.
