The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has praised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing significant infrastructure projects in the South East, describing them as “visible, tangible, and durable.” Speaking during an inspection of flyovers and roads along the Enugu Abakaliki Expressway over the weekend, Umahi highlighted the scale and quality of projects in the region compared with previous administrations.

“To the South East people, the projects we are seeing now are unprecedented in scope and quality,” Umahi said. “The roads and flyovers are visible and accessible for all to see. The quality of what is being done will continue to speak for itself.”

He noted that prior administrations had limited federal projects in the zone, and the current efforts have improved inclusion among Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The minister emphasized that infrastructure development in the South East is a clear demonstration of government commitment to regional growth and equitable progress.

Umahi also encouraged residents to acknowledge the progress and use social media to highlight these developments, similar to how attention was previously drawn to poor road conditions in the area. “South East is on the rise, and the projects being delivered are benefiting our people,” he said. “We are grateful for the visible improvements, and these developments will continue to impact the region positively.”

The minister’s remarks focused on tangible results in infrastructure delivery and regional development, stressing that actions speak louder than political rhetoric. The ongoing projects, which include major roads and flyovers, reflect a broader effort to enhance connectivity, promote economic activities, and improve the standard of living in the South East.
