The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, has confirmed that Mikano International Limited has fully complied with the Commission’s directives and has now been discharged from all financial obligations and liabilities connected to the matter.

In an official letter dated February 9, 2026, the FCCPC stated that Mikano International satisfied all the conditions outlined in the Order and Notice previously issued by the Commission on December 16, 2025. The letter was addressed to the Chief Executive of Mikano International and signed by the Head of Legal Services, Nsitem Chizenum, on behalf of the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission.

According to the FCCPC, Mikano has successfully fulfilled its obligations under the Commission’s directive. As a result, the company has been cleared of any further financial responsibility or liability relating to the issue.

Despite discharging the company, the Commission instructed Mikano International to elish and maintain a strong compliance system focused on competition and consumer protection within its operations.

The FCCPC explained that the compliance framework must include a clearly defined company wide policy that promotes fair competition, quality assurance, consumer protection and full adherence to all existing competition and consumer protection laws in Nigeria.

The Commission further advised the company to avoid any actions or business practices that may violate the provisions of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act or any other relevant regulations and guidelines.

The development is seen as a significant step for Mikano International, one of Nigeria’s leading industrial and power solution companies, as it clears the company of regulatory liabilities connected to the Commission’s earlier investigation.

Industry observers believe the decision also highlights the FCCPC’s increasing focus on ensuring businesses operate within fair competition standards while protecting consumer rights across different sectors of the Nigerian economy.
