The Spanish football federation has handed a heavy suspension to Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Esteban Andrada following a violent altercation during a heated second tier derby against Huesca. The Argentine shot stopper has been banned for 13 matches after punching Huesca defender Jorge Pulido in the face during stoppage time of the encounter.

According to the federation disciplinary committee, Andrada received a 12 match suspension for the हमला itself, in addition to a one match ban triggered by his red card. The decision effectively rules the 35 year old out for the remainder of the season, dealing a significant setback to Zaragoza as they fight to avoid relegation.

The incident unfolded late in the match after Andrada shoved Pulido to the ground, earning a second yellow card. Moments later, he reacted angrily and ran back to strike the Huesca player, sparking a chaotic brawl involving several players from both sides.

Following the match, Andrada issued a public apology, expressing regret for his actions and acknowledging the negative impact on his club and supporters. He admitted that his behavior did not reflect the standards expected of a professional footballer.

The altercation also led to further disciplinary action. Huesca goalkeeper Dani Jimenez received a four match ban, while Zaragoza player Dani Tasende was suspended for two matches. Despite the turmoil, Huesca managed to secure a 1 0 victory.

Real Zaragoza condemned the incident, stating that such scenes are unacceptable in football and should never occur. The club now faces a difficult challenge without their first choice goalkeeper in a crucial stage of the season.
