IGP Approves Revised Training Curriculum to Enhance Nigeria Police Force

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has taken a significant step toward improving the professionalism and effectiveness of the Police Force by approving a Revised Training Curriculum for all police recruits. This updated curriculum aims to equip recruits with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of policing in Nigeria while adhering to international best practices.

The new training curriculum is designed to prepare recruits for the diverse challenges they will encounter in the field, with a focus on modern policing techniques and ethical conduct. According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejibi, the curriculum introduces a broad range of important topics. These include the Police Act 2020, which provides trainees with the latest framework governing police operations, and the Nigeria Police Force Social Media Policy, aimed at educating officers on the appropriate use of social media and its role in policing.
