APC Chieftain Urges Opposition Leaders to Provide Solutions Amid Economic Hardship

Illiyasu Musa Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on leaders, including vice president Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to focus on helping Nigerians out of hardship instead of consistently criticizing the Federal Government. Speaking to reporters in Kano on Thursday, he acknowledged the current economic difficulties facing Nigerians but defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating it is making efforts to improve living conditions.

Kwankwaso expressed his dissatisfaction with the opposition leaders’ approach, arguing that instead of offering constructive support and solutions, they engage in persistent and destructive criticism that distracts the government from its mission. “Let us see their contributions; they should proffer solutions and be supportive, rather than criticising destructively,” he stated.

Specifically, he asked what Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a presidential candidate, has done for his immediate constituents and neighboring states like Jigawa and Katsina to alleviate the suffering of his NNPP supporters. “What is their individual contributions to the wellbeing of Nigerians at this critical period?” he asked.

Kwankwaso criticized his namesake for focusing on political battles rather than providing tangible relief, particularly highlighting his actions the government in Kano. “Rather, he is busy fighting his own government at the state level, especially in Kano state,” he added.
