Tottenham Held to Goalless Draw at Nottingham Forest as New Signings Struggle

Tottenham Hotspur secured their first point of the Premier League season with a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday. The stalemate offered little entertainment as both sides struggled to create clear-cut opportunities in a tightly contested affair.

Forest thought they’d broken the deadlock when Neco Williams bundled the ball over the line in the second half. However, VAR intervened to disallow the goal for handball, keeping the scoreline level. What might have been a crucial turning point instead became another frustrating moment in a game lacking quality.

The performance raised questions about Tottenham’s new recruits, who failed to make the desired impact. Pedro Porro received license to roam forward but managed only a neat pass to Omar Marmoush in the opening period. Jan Paul van Hecke endured particular difficulties, earning a rating of just five after being part of the defensive mishap that nearly gifted Forest the lead.

Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky provided the brightest spot for Spurs, commanding his area confidently to register his first clean sheet of the campaign. Destiny Udogie returned to the starting lineup after 60 minutes, though he and his teammates lacked genuine threat in wide positions throughout the contest.
