Trump’s Military Strikes Spark Global Economic Fears and War Crime Accusations

President Donald Trump’s escalating military operations across two continents have ignited a dangerous tail of economic inility and humanitarian controversy. The ing raids on Iran that began over the weekend have sent shockwaves through global markets, pushing bond yields higher and oil prices sharply upward. Stock markets are wobbling.

Iran responded on Tuesday with missile and drone s on multiple American bases in the region. The conflict deepened when Iranian authorities accused the US of a war crime, claiming a strike hit a wedding party. According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, four people d and more than 50 were injured, including a child among the dead.

What’s driving the economic anxiety? The strikes come at a delicate moment for global finance. The artificial intelligence investment boom that’s sustained the US economy had already entered fragile territory, with major tech companies burning through cash reserves to fund massive data centre expansions.

Meanwhile, Trump’s year-long boat strike campaign in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific has ed over 220 people since September 2, 2025. Families like that of Saint Lucian fisherman Joseph William, who vanished on February 13, question whether their loved ones were drug smugglers or simply fishermen caught in America’s crosshairs. His son Rayshawn Charlery searches for answers that may never come.
