Arsenal have won the race for one of Europe’s most promising young talents. Georgian ing midfielder Andria Bartishvili, just 17, was photographed boarding a flight to London to finalize his transfer to the Premier League champions.
The teenager, currently on loan with Iberia 1999 from Kolkheti 1913, is considered among the brightest prospects in Georgian football. Despite his age, he’s already earned two caps for Georgia’s Under-21 side. Top clubs across Europe had been tracking him closely, but Arsenal’s newly appointed sporting director Andrea Berta and assistant Maurizio Micheli proved decisive in securing his signature.
Micheli’s track record speaks volumes. He previously discovered Georgian superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during his time as chief scout at Napoli, adding credibility to Arsenal’s latest investment.
Bartishvili, who turns 18 in March 2027, confirmed the move on Instagram, writing: ‘A very big thank you to everyone for the congratulations.’ The deal, which will see him officially join Arsenal in 2027, is expected to be a five-year contract following his medical.
Can Arsenal’s impressive summer recruitment translate into sustained success? They’ve also secured Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa, though deadline day passed without the ing reinforcements some fans wanted. Time will tell if their faith in youth pays dividends.
