Milo Yiannopoulos returned to social media Sunday with an unexpected post about a KFC burger, marking his first public comment since US immigration authorities arrested and deported him last week. The British far-right commentator shared a screenshot of a food delivery promotion for KFC’s “Dirty Louisiana Burger” with the caption “oh off.” The post referenced Louisiana, where immigration agents had detained him just days earlier.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested the 41-year-old at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Thursday, August 27. He was flown back to the United Kingdom the following day.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Yiannopoulos had legally entered the US through New York City in May 2019 but overstayed his visa. An immigration judge issued a final removal order against him on July 22 after he failed to appear for his immigration hearing. DHS described him as “an illegal alien from the United Kingdom” who “chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws.”
Yiannopoulos, who previously served as Kanye West’s chief of staff, had traveled to New Orleans for West’s scheduled performance at Caesars Superdome. West and his wife Bianca Censori reportedly left the same airport shortly after the arrest.
