A California-based semiconductor manufacturer is betting on Spanish expertise to crack the European power electronics market. SemiQ Inc of Lake Forest has inked a distribution agreement with Ibérica Semiconductores de Potencia, a Madrid firm with deep roots in the region’s energy sector.
The partnership gives Ibérica access to SemiQ’s complete lineup of silicon carbide MOSFETs and Schottky diodes. These aren’t your garden-variety components. They’re designed for high-voltage applications where conventional silicon simply can’t keep up, from electric vehicle chargers to industrial power systems.
