PDP Affirms Michael Aondoakaa as Benue Governorship Candidate for 2027

Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Chief Michael Aondoakaa SAN has been officially affirmed as the Peoples Democratic Party PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Benue State. The affirmation took place during the party congress held in Makurdi where party leaders and supporters endorsed his candidacy ahead of the polls.

At the event Aondoakaa also unveiled 38 year old Oyije Ogbenjuwa as his running mate promising to build a government focused on security agriculture economic growth and transparent leadership.

In his acceptance speech Aondoakaa described his emergence as a victory for democracy unity and the future of Benue State. He praised fellow aspirants for setting aside personal ambition in the interest of the party and the people.

“You are not just my former competitors you are my brothers and partners in the mission to rescue and rebuild Benue,” he said.

The PDP candidate stated that Benue people were demanding peace economic opportunities and responsible governance after years of insecurity and hardship. According to him farmers want to safely return to their farms while youths women civil servants and pensioners deserve empowerment and better living conditions.

Aondoakaa promised that his administration would immediately focus on ending s and bloodshed across communities in the state. He also pledged to revive agriculture improve rural development create jobs for young people and strengthen healthcare education and infrastructure.

The former minister further assured party members that his campaign would promote reconciliation and unity beyond political and ethnic differences. He emphasized that his administration would prioritize service delivery and accountability.

Former Benue State governor Chief Samuel Ortom who spoke during the event described Aondoakaa as a tested and trusted leader capable of managing public resources responsibly. Ortom expressed confidence that the PDP candidate would restore displaced persons to their ancestral homes and improve the welfare of citizens across the state.

The endorsement of Aondoakaa signals the PDP’s early preparations for the 2027 governorship race in Benue State as political activities continue to gather momentum across Nigeria.
