Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and his Galatasaray teammates have been hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following their successful 2025/26 Süper Lig title win.
Galatasaray secured their 26th league title, finishing three points ahead of rivals Fenerbahçe to extend their domestic dominance in Turkish football. The club’s latest success was officially celebrated with a presidential reception held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.
Osimhen played a key role in the title-winning campaign, scoring 15 league goals and providing five assists in 22 appearances. He also impressed in European competition, registering seven goals and three assists in 10 UEFA Champions League matches before Galatasaray were eliminated by Liverpool in the round of 16.
During the reception, Osimhen and his teammates, all dressed in formal suits, were received by President Erdoğan, excing handshakes and pleasantries. Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek also presented the club jersey to the Turkish leader during the ceremony.
The victory marks another successful chapter for Osimhen in Turkey, where he has now won multiple trophies with Galatasaray since joining the club. The team is also on course to make history, as they aim to become the first side in Turkish football to win five consecutive league titles if they retain the trophy next season.
Osimhen’s performances have continued to attract attention across Europe, with reports linking him to major clubs including Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. However, Galatasaray have maintained their desire to keep the Nigerian striker as a key part of their long term project.
