The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has officially released the list of the highest performing candidates in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The announcement was made during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Monday.
According to the list released by JAMB, Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin from Ekiti State emerged as the overall best candidate nationwide after scoring an impressive 372 out of the maximum 400 marks obtainable in the examination. She selected the University of Lagos as her preferred institution to study Medicine and Surgery.
Enwere Kingsley Ikenna from Imo State followed closely with a score of 370. He chose Nile University to study Computer Science. Bamisile Ayomide Emmanuel from Ondo State secured third position with 369 marks and applied to study Software Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Akure.
Several other candidates also recorded outstanding scores of 368 and 367 across different states and institutions. Olabiyisi Olanrewaju Oluwatimileyin from Oyo State chose Pan Atlantic University to study Mechatronics Engineering after scoring 368. Victor Onyeka Daniel Ifeanyi from Imo State also scored 368 and selected the University of Port Harcourt for Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Others on the top scorers list include Osagiobare Daniel Osahenrumwen from Edo State, Ademiluyi Adebowale Anthony from Osun State, Azuike Kenechukwu Anthony from Anambra State, Offorkile Michael Okechukwu from Abia State, Adebisi Eniola Sonari from Ogun State, and Umukoro Gift Orhenevovwero from Delta State.
The release of the list has generated excitement among students, parents, and educational stakeholders across the country as candidates prepare for the next stage of the admission process into Nigerian universities and other tertiary institutions.
