Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema has been announced as one of the headline performers for the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles.
The announcement was made by FIFA via its official Instagram page, revealing a star studded lineup of global artistes set to perform at the tournament’s opening ceremony on June 12, 2026.
Rema will share the stage with international stars including LISA, Katy Perry, Tyla, Future, and Anitta in what FIFA described as a celebration of cultural diversity and global music influence.
According to FIFA, the lineup reflects the rich cultural mix of the United States and highlights how music connects people across different regions and backgrounds.
The World Cup opening ceremony is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment events in sporting history, blending football and global pop culture on a massive stage.
In addition, FIFA announced that the tournament’s official anthem titled “Dai Dai,” performed by Burna Boy and Shakira, will be released on May 14 ahead of the competition.
The 2026 World Cup final will also introduce a historic Super Bowl style halftime show, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, set to take place on July 19.
