A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Edo State, Ikponmwosa Clement Aitusi, has praised Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo for providing 54 units of heavy duty construction equipment to the 18 local government councils across the state.

The equipment, which includes caterpillars, graders, excavators, and rollers, was commissioned by FCT Minister Nyelsom Wike and officially handed over to the state chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria on February 23, 2026.

Aitusi noted that the initiative will enhance rural road construction, drainage rehabilitation, environmental waste management, and other community driven infrastructural projects. He emphasized that the program is aimed at extending development beyond the state capital to rural communities while boosting the capacity of local governments to deliver on their mandates.

He further urged local government chairmen, particularly the acting chairman of Ikpoba/Okha, to maintain the equipment properly and ensure it is used for public benefit rather than being stored.
